Ted Exercises with Americas Best Bike Rides – Day 18 of 90

Hey America! This is day 18 of Ted’s blog. I wanted to talk to you a little about Motivation. Motivation is what HAS to happen if you are going to get on any exercise program and stick with it! You have to have some goal, just like climbing a mountain, you know if you start off at the bottom of the mountain and you’re walking up to the top of the mountain. You can see the crest of the mountain peak and you are saying to yourself “can I make it?” and the one thing that mountain climbers have over other people is the drive and the desire to get to that peak and make it to the top. That’s one of the things that I’m finding out as I’m working on my exercise routine everyday Is getting myself motivated. Trying to get myself to get to that mountain top, right now I’m at the bottom of the hill, you know I just started going up and I am looking up at the top of that mountain and I’m thinking “well you know I wanna lose 25 pounds”

I want to get in shape. I want to get myself really healthy, healthier than where I’m at right now. I mean it’s slowly happening at a pace where it’s just like the climb of the mountain. I’m going to keep my eyes focused on the mountain peak and keep walking up that hill until I get there. One of the things that’s driving me to succeed in this whole thing is just seeing the progress that I’ve had just in the last couple of weeks. Being able to feel better, walk a little more briskly and just having my head clearer and then just looking at pictures of myself when I was 16 or 17 years old and I was a lot lighter, and wanting to get my body frame down to that size again.

I realize the frame isn’t going to change a whole lot but the stuff that’s around the frame hopefully can. I myself personally am a little bit bigger boned and a little bit more of an “around the bone” type of person than a lot of bicycle riders so it will be interesting to see what’s going to happen with me. Where I get in the end we’ll see if I keep on this program. So anyway, I just wanted to give you a little update and remember when you’re on an exercise program, we’re all climbing up that mountain and we’re all trying to make it to the peak. I hope everybody is able to do just that and that’s what I’m going to keep my eye on!

For some great motivation that will help you make the change you want in your personal fitness, check out the ABBR store.
